Brown - Plastic Bottles

A number (from 1 to 7) in a triangle on the base of most plastic containers tells you whether it is recyclable or not, recyclable numbers include type 1 (PETE) and 2 (HDPE). Some other kinds of plastic products besides bottles can also be recycled (but not to be put in recycling bins), the picture below shows a number 2 inscribed in a triangle, indicating it is made from recyclable materials.

Tips on recycling plastic bottles:

i)                    Remaining fluid in the bottles should be drained. The bottles should also be rinsed.

ii)                   Plastic bottles should be crushed to save space in the bin.

iii)                 Unless stated otherwise, remove the caps from plastic bottles as the caps are usually not recyclable.
