We had a wonderful visit from US Consul General, Mr Gregory May on 8 November 2023. SPCS students introduced various prestigious activities and programs provided at our school, such as mock trial, MIT exchange program, and groundbreaking achievements by our students in the field of STEM (including aerospace engineering and robotics). We then conducted a productive discussion on pathways to studying in the US, followed by a delightful sharing from Mr. May on his background and career. The visit was concluded with an afternoon tea session, with an assortment of baked food carefully prepared by our students. During the afternoon tea session, we had the honour to have an engaging conversation with Mr May, sharing our school lives, interests, career aspirations, in addition to the Hong Kong education system. Mr May was absolutely fascinated by the fruitful lives of typical local students!

Visit from student leaders and teachers from Jurong West Secondary School, Singapore
On 8th November 2018, 16 student leaders and 2 teachers from Jurong West Secondary School, Singapore came to visit us. Our hospitality team first welcomed them at the school¡¦s main entrance and used AR apps on iPads to share with them our school tours to other parts of the world. The visitors then visited our Classroom of the Future where they were given a brief introduction to SPCS. A VR session to visit their school back in Singapore and other places around the globe using Google Earth was also run there. Not only were our guests who were eager to find out more about cultural differences between Hong Kong and Singapore excited by the VR experience, the arrangement enabled students from both schools to start further conversations about the differences and similarities in the two places. Our hospitality team then led the visitors on a school tour to different special rooms, e.g. the Home Economics Room, the Chinese-style Synergy Corner and also the Chinese Room where they met a small group who had their Chinese as the Secondary Language class. Our visitors joined in the class and had fun interactions with our students.

The highlight of the day was the interflow between student leaders from both schools. House representatives joined the meeting after school and explored in greater depth the experiences as well as challenges that students from the two cities face. Before the visit ended, our guests joined our monthly Dragon Dance for Fun Programme which was a new experience for a lot of them.

Throughout the exchange, not only did we share with them the school life at SPCS and our achievements, we also learnt a lot about the unique Singaporean culture and the challenges they face. It was definitely an eye-opening experience and a mutually beneficial opportunity for all students.
